Brunch at The California Grill

I had brunch at the California Grill inside Disney's Contemporary Resort for the first time.  It was a pretty darn swanky restaurant.  You can't even enter the restaurant unless a cast member escorts your party up to the top floor via private elevator.

When the elevator doors open, you step out, and are greeted with an awesome view of all the Disney Parks and UNLIMITED mimosas as far as the eyes can see!!!

I believe you can see the fireworks show at night from here.

Once you're seated, you're handed an entree menu.  You get to select one main course dish from the menu and then help yourself at the buffet.  The buffet is mostly cold nibbles like assorted sushi, salads, yogurt station, and a charcuterie table.  I picked Shrimp and Grits.  My hubs ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict. We also ordered a side of roasted potatoes and bacon to share.

The most notable table is the Blood Mary bar.  For a $15 up-charge, you can pick 5 toppings and hot sauce to create your own Bloody Mary.

And of course no meal is complete without a beautiful plate of assorted desserts.

The price for brunch was pricey.  I believe for the two of us plus one Bloody Mary the bill came to about $200 before tax and tip.  I could be off $10 more or less.  For that price the main courses could have been a bit better but service was great, and the view was spectacular.  Would I do it again?  No, but I'm glad I was able to experience it once.
